Aniplex USA announces release of Madoka Magica, Blue Exorcist

As predicted once the site appeared, Aniplex USA has announced a release for Madoka Magica at their Anime Expo panel. There is currently no information about how or when it will be released. All they can confirm is that they will be releasing it at some point.

Aniplex also announced a DVD release for Blue Exorcist. They will start releasing it later this year, finishing at some time in 2012. The series will be released on four DVD sets. During Q&A Aniplex mentioned that the Blue Exorcist DVDs will be subtitle only.

The website madokamagicausa.com has appeared recently. The website currently leads nowhere, but if you do a whois search for the website you get some handy information. The website was registered by Aniplex USA, making it possible they plan on releasing the show here, although a similar thing happened with Darker Than Black Season 2 and that ended up going to Funimation. Aniplex USA had said they were negotiating for Madoka back in May.

I expect Aniplex will be announcing a DVD only release with $40 sets that only have 4 episodes each at Anime Expo. Or we could get lucky and someone who doesn’t price gouge their customers might release it.
